Thank you Charlotte

Liebster Award

Yesterday Charlotte (Lawson and Lottie) generously honoured me with a Liebster Award.  She was awarded her own by Courtney at Mon Petit Lyons.

My first award.  Now I'm really not one for chain letters and stuff like that but I do like the idea of introducing your to a wider range of crafting bloggers.  So any of you  whom I mention below, don't feel enforced to do a post as I have, I just want you to know that your works have inspired me in some way, thank you.

So what' s a Liebster Award?  I'd never heard of this award until I'd received notification from Charlotte, but have since checked it out.  Basically it's a way to spread some blog love, around each other who craft in blogland, by helping blogs, new or otherwise, with less than 200 followers to be known to a wider 'audience'.

In german Leibster means beloved, favourite or dearest and now i get a chance to pass on the love of other blogs!

The RULES:
  • choose five up and coming blogs with less than 200 followers
  • mention them on my blog
  • let them know by sending them a message that they have been nominated
so here are five blogs I love and want to share with you, (and not all of the will probably be quilt orientated), so in no particular order we have:-

  1. Firstly we have Debbie at Esch House Quilts - Debbie makes amazing quilts, be it a new twist on a simple traditional block or a lovely simple but modern appliqué quilt, there is something there to tantalise you.  But more that that, she has produced some of her own designs into patterns that can be bought at her Etsy store.  If you are looking for something a little different I'd recommend you check her blog and Etsy store out.
  2. Now we have Joan, (Joan at Leschenault),who lives outside Perth 'down under'.  Joan has been working hard on her quilting skills, and this is how I found her, by following image links of her quilting work.  I must admit I am a little envious of her FMQ skills, especially her wholecloth quilt.  Unfortunately the Sharon Schamber video explaining the process of designing and transferring the design is no longer available, but you can see from Joan's own quilt how informative the video was.  I must admit a wholecloth quilt is on my to do list, someday.
  3. Then there is Deborah from Quilt Routes - she paints her own fabric (which she sells, together with some patterns).  I love her amazing art quilts.  It's astonishing how a piece of dyed fabric with minimal appliqué additions and straight line quilting can create masterpieces. Oh to be able to create such lovely fabric and do my own little masterpieces.
  4. Domestic Light and Magic - now you wouldn't think that this is a crafting blog, but the title is just so Lynz.  I'd recommend you check her out for pure honesty and delight in her crafting and home world.  She has made some amazing quilts, bags, pillows and hangings, and you can see where her fun personality is incorporated in each piece.
  5. Modern Quilt Relish - two ladies, Jill and Marney, who each week share their take on the modern quilt style - they have a lovely range of patterns that is growing steadily.
I hope you all enjoy checking out these blogs!

Thank you so much, Ethne! I'm familiar with Modern Quilt Relish and Lawson and Lottie, but not the others, so off to check them out.
